In science, our students were treated to a visit from Peter Winch, an educator, naturalist, and artist who works for the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary near the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Peter brought crab costumes, traps, and most importantly, live purple shore crabs to teach students about their importance to our local marine environment. Students dressed up as crabs, danced like crabs, drew crabs, and held crabs. It was a huge hit with students of all ages (and adults, too). The next day, our first- and second-grade class took a field trip to Natural Bridges to see tide pools, so it was perfect timing.
We welcome the community to our family movie night under the stars on Friday, April 17. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, purchase a delicious taco dinner prepared by the Agrillo family, then stay for the movie. Tacos will be served beginning at 6 p.m., and the movie will start at sundown.
At the Lakeside School Community Foundation’s most recent Goodwill fundraiser, we collected over 4,000 pounds of donations to earn almost $600. Mark your calendars for our next Goodwill drive on Saturday, May 2. Our students are gearing up for the annual May Day celebration on Friday, May 1. This cherished tradition brings
