The Webb Family The Santa Cruz Mountains lost a man who contributed his life to serving the . Lowell Edgar Webb left us on January 28, 2025, at 88 years old in Santa Cruz, California. He was born here in 1936, to Kenneth and Mary Webb.

The family businesses, Webb’s Farm Supplies and Webb’s Organic Farm, have been serving and providing nourishment to the community for more than 100 years. Many in the area, even across the country, have purchased or had outdoor power equipment serviced by Lowell and his crew.

He was still taking care of his customers in the last months of his life. Lowell’s family plan to continue to serve the community in this spirit. If you came to the shop, you knew that Lowell loved motorcycles. He would go on long endurance rides in the desert and toured the country’s highways, border to border, and coast to coast, with his riding buddies.

If he wasn’t busy taking care of business or telling colorful jokes, he would often share these experiences, and you knew this was his passion. If you needed a part for some old equipment or a creative solution to a problem, Webb’s Farm Supplies was the place to go.

They have warehouses full of old parts dating back to the ’40s. Lowell knew exactly where to find the part you needed. Lowell grew up on one of the first organic farms in the country, on the homestead originally settled by his great-grandfather in the late 1800s. His mother, Mary, grew organic produce before it was called “organic” and sold it through farmers markets around the bay. Lowell carried on this tradition and sold their “Old School Produce” from the Farm’s “SoCool Bus.”

Rain or shine, you would find him on Saturday mornings at the Aptos Farmers Market, where the family sold as many as 150 varieties of fruits and vegetables for 50 years. Lowell was an outspoken voice when it came to promoting issues that he believed were supporting the freedoms and health of the community. He was active in numerous philanthropic and volunteer organizations.

He was also a member of Mountain Bible Church on the Summit. Lowell is survived by his son Adam Webb, daughter Tabatha Jenrette, nephew Carter Lewis, and niece Karen Webb- Pengilly. A celebration of life will be planned in late spring/early summer. Stay tuned to the MNN for more details.
